Gastric Obstruction – Causes, Symptoms Treatments
Your bowels are tasked with removing waste and toxins from our body, as well as absorbing salts, liquids, nutrients, indigestible vitamins. They do it to extract all possible nutrients that weren’t digested in the stomach and maintain the balance of electrolytes in our system.
When your bowels are not functioning well, they collect the waste and toxins they’re supposed to get rid of, resulting in various diseases and health issues. If left undiagnosed and untreated, obstructed bowels lead to kidney and liver-related health problems. In this article, you’ll learn all you need to know about bowel obstruction, symptoms that should serve as warning signals, and the natural home remedies needed to fix and prevent it.
GOO
What causes gastric obstructions?
The reasons for obstructed bowels are plentiful, such as hernias, cysts, tumors, etc. Another reason is overeating foods that are harmful to our bodies, such as food rich in preservatives and other chemicals. These chemicals lead to a buildup of mucus in the guts, which releases toxins that can damage the body. Another cause is a buildup of fecal matter or foreign bodies in the lower intestine.
Bezoars can also cause gastric obstructions. Bezoars are a fibrous lump that forms in the stomach, and the most common type is formed of undigested pieces of food. They are mainly composed out of plant cellulose, most common in unripe fruit and persimmons.
Men are in a higher risk group for contracting phytobezoars in their stomachs, with symptoms that include upper gastric pains, feeling full soon after beginning to eat, nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite and loss of weight. Symptoms only appear in 10-25% of the cases, making phytobezoars hard to diagnose, and can lead to gastric obstructions.
What happens when your gastrointestinal system is obstructed?
When the small intestine is blocked, it will begin contracting in order to move its content beyond the obstruction, which can lead to frequent diarrhea. In later stages, it will become less effective, causing a buildup of water and electrolytes that can lead to dehydration.
The obstruction will also create pressure on the intestinal walls, and if left untreated – will only get worse. This can lead to venous drainage obstruction, a rising of the diaphragm, and a suppression of the lungs’ function. The obstruction itself will aid in the bacterial buildup, in particular, E-Coli, Klebsiella, and Enterococcus Faecalis. The bacteria colonies will grow very quickly, increasing the chances of gangrene and intestinal punctures.
Patients lose their ability to pass feces and gasses along the intestine, causing swelling and increasing stomach pains. The large intestine will expand due to the buildup of bacterium, liquids, feces and gasses.
GOO
Which symptoms can indicate an obstruction?
Symptoms can be evidence of obstruction caused be stomach cramping or phytobezoars. Once you notice these symptoms, it is recommended that you pay a visit to your family doctor, to evaluate the nature of the obstruction. Not all symptoms may appear, but they will appear in these general groups:
  • Constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, lethargy and swelling.
  • Headaches, memory loss, blurred vision.
  • Burning sensation in the upper digestive system.
  • Weight gain, lack of energy and indigestion.
  • Ulcers in the stomach and Duodenum, ulcerative colitis and stomach inflammation.
  • Urinary tract infections and inflammation of the kidneys.
  • Constant colds, allergies, joint pains and chronic diseases.
Treatments:
The most basic treatment is hooking the patient up to an IV, which can only be performed by a doctor. In some cases, the obstructions can be relieved by using a nasogastric tube, and in severe cases, an operation will be required. An enema may help in some cases, but if performed incorrectly – can lead to internal bleeding.
The simplest, natural treatment for intestinal obstruction is eating 1-3 tablespoons of flax seeds, combined with 100-15ml of Kefir (a type of fermented milk drink) for three days. Flax seeds help the body dispose of fecal matter, mucus and parasites. Additionally, flax seeds can help prevent several forms of cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, and even help lower cholesterol levels. Kefir contains many probiotic bacteria, enzymes, vitamin B12 and proteins, all of which are good for your body. Kefir also helps in restoring the gastric biome and is lactose-free.
To clear your intestines from obstructions, add kefir and flax seeds to your breakfast in this manner:
  • 1st week: 100ml of kefir and one tablespoon of flax seeds
  • 2nd week: 100ml of kefir and two tablespoons of flax seeds
  • 3rd week: 150ml of kefir and three tablespoons of flax seeds
Additionally, drink at least two liters of water every day.
GOO
Prevention:
The best way to unblock a phytobezoar obstruction is by eating food that is high in protein and low in fiber. Once the blockage is gone, follow these dietary tips to heal and prevent reoccurrences.
  • Beverages: It is advised that you keep your body well hydrated. Drink fruit-shakes, water, and sports drinks that are rich in electrolytes. Avoid high-fat dairy.
  • Dairy: Stick to low-fat or fat-free products.
  • Grains and bread: Fiber from whole grain tends to slow down the digestive process. Focus on plain white bread, pasta, and regular grain.
  • Fruits and vegetables: Boiled or canned fruits and vegetables are the way to go. Avoid eating the skin. Watermelon, melons, and bananas can be consumed fresh. Avoid high-fiber fruits and vegetables.
  • Meat and meat substitutes: Protein is essential to the healing process. Stick to skinless chicken or turkey meat. Other kinds of lean meat, such as fish, eggs and tofu are also good.
  • Other: Avoid fried foods and use as little butter as possible. Boiled or steamed foods are the most recommended. Minimize the use of seasoning and fatty sauces and dressings.

Bundled with health benefits
The Radiant beetroot has been identified as a superfood due to its immense nutritional value. According to health experts, regular consumption of beetroot can benefit our health in a multiple ways. It's low in calories (45 calories per 100 gm.) and has almost negligible fat content. Not only this, it helps reduce blood pressure and aids in the production of red blood cells. Beetroot is an excellent source of iron and is great for maintaining healthy hemoglobin levels. It has anti-ageing properties and assists in maintaining glowing skin and lustrous hair. It is also believed to inhibit cancer cell mutation, prevent DNA damage, boost metabolism and strengthen the digestive system.
How to Buy
While buying beetroot, go for small and firm ones with a dark ruby blush. The vegetable should have an unblemished surface with bright hued leaves and an intact taproot. Avoid hairy taproots as they are indicative of the veggie being old and tough. To ensure freshness, buy the ones that are attached to their leaf stems. Since its leaves are also edible, they can be used in a variety of recipes.
How to store
Store it in a cool and dry place, ideally refrigerated for 7-10 days. For an enduring storage, the leaves need to be cut 2 inches from the root.
Tip: To ensure that the nutrients and colour of the beetroot remain intact, do not remove its skin before boiling it. Once cooked, rub off the skin under cold running water.
So, what are you waiting for? You now have enough reasons to be munching on this ruby delight. Chomp and toss it in garden fresh salads or make a wholesome, filling beetroot soup; from curries, sandwiches, to dips, chutneys and even desserts - beetroot is fairly versatile, you may cook it as you please.

Type 2 Diabetes - The Signs and Symptoms!

AstroVigHnesh US(425) 358-6565 & Ind: 9445548316 (Both Wat'sapp)

There are 21 million people in the world who have been diagnosed with diabetes, but there are still around 8.1 million people who have the disease and don’t know about it (27.8% of people with diabetes are undiagnosed). Symptoms of this disease vary from person to person, but, like with most diseases, the earlier you catch it, the better off you will be.
Therefore, it is definitely worth getting to know, and keeping an eye out, for the symptoms of diabetes.
• You are above the age of 45
• You have already been diagnosed with pre-diabetes
• You are overweight or inactive
• You are African American, a native of Alaska, American Indian, Asian American, Hispanic/Latino, or Pacific Islander American, and are experiencing atypical symptoms.
Common Symptoms of Diabetes
If you’re experiencing any of the below, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible.
Excessive Urination (Polyuria)
Polyuria is an increase in the frequency of urination. When you have abnormally high levels of sugar in your blood, your kidneys draw in water from your tissues in order to dilute the sugar, so your body can expel it in the urine. The cells are also pumping water into the bloodstream to flush out the sugar, and the kidneys are not able to reabsorb this fluid during filtering, resulting in excessive urination.
To meet the clinical definition of polyuria, an adult’s urine output must be more than 2.5 liters per day (normal urine output is 1.5 liters).
As it’s near enough impossible for you to measure this yourself, if you notice that you’re visiting the bathroom more times than usual, consult your doctor.
Excessive Thirst (Polydipsia)
This usually goes hand-in-hand with excessive urination. As your body pulls water from tissues to dilute your blood and to dispose of the sugar through urination, the urge to drink increases. Many people describe this thirst as an unquenchable one. To stay hydrated, you drink excessive amounts of fluids – if these fluids contain simple sugars, your blood sugar levels will increase dramatically.
Extreme Fatigue
Your body is like a vehicle – it needs fuel to run. Its main source of fuel is glucose (sugar), which is gained from foods that contain carbohydrates that can be broken down. Insulin, a hormone created by the pancreas, takes sugar from your blood to your cells to use for energy. However, if you have diabetes, either your pancreas isn’t producing enough insulin or the insulin that your body is making isn’t being used properly, typically because the cells have become resistant to it. This ultimately results in your cells being deprived of sugar, or fuel. The result will be tiredness and extreme fatigue.
Cuts and Bruises That are Slow to Heal
When the blood is full of sugar, nerves and circulation can be affected. Adequate circulation is needed to heal as poor circulation makes it hard for blood to reach affected areas, slowing down the healing process. If you notice that you have a cut or bruise that is slow to disappear, this could be a sign of high blood sugars.
Excessive Hunger (Polyphasia)
This goes hand-in-hand with cell starvation and fatigue. As the cells are resistant to the body’s insulin, glucose remains in the blood. The cells are then unable to gain access to glucose, which will trigger hunger hormones to tell the brain that you’re hungry. Excessive eating can complicate things by causing blood sugars to increase.
Neuropathy
Numbness and tingling in the extremities is known as neuropathy. This is usually a symptom that occurs gradually over time as excess sugar damages the nerves. Keeping blood sugars within normal range can help prevent further damage and reduce the symptoms.
Blurry Vision
Blurred vision can be a result of elevated blood sugar levels. Similarly, fluid that is pulled from the cells into the bloodstream to dilute the sugar can also be pulled from the lenses of your eyes. When the lens becomes dry, the eye cannot focus, resulting in blurry vision. Therefore, it’s important that all people diagnosed with type 3 diabetes have a dilated eye exam shortly after diagnosis.
Less Common Symptoms of Diabetes
The following symptoms are not experienced by everyone with diabetes, but they can signal the disease, and are worth looking out for.
• Weight loss
• Erectile dysfunction
• Dry, itchy skin
• Frequent infections, such as yeast infections in women
• Irritability
• Dry mouth
How is Diabetes Diagnosed
The same tests used to screen and diagnose diabetes are used to detect individuals with pre-diabetes. There are a few ways you can be diagnosed. Your doctor can carry out a number of blood tests, depending on whether or not you have any symptoms. Whether you are at a high or low risk for diabetes, your physician will use the same tests:
• Random glucose test (if you’re symptomatic)
• Fasting glucose test (a test done when you haven’t eaten for 8 hours)
• Two-hour glucose tolerance test
• Hemoglobin a1c test (a three-month average of your blood sugar)
Sometimes people don’t experience symptoms of diabetes and the diagnosis is made not because the doctor suspects the disease, but as a result of a routine check-up.
For someone who does not have any symptoms to be considered to have type 2 diabetes, they must:
• Have a fasting blood sugar (no food eaten for 8 hours) greater than or equal to 126 mg/dL
• Have a blood sugar of 200mg/dL after 2 hours during a glucose tolerance test using 75g glucose solution.
• Have a hemoglobin A1c of 6.5% or higher.
If You’ve Recently Been Diagnosed with Diabetes
If you have just been diagnosed with diabetes, it’s normal to feel a bit scared, confused, and overwhelmed. There are so many myths floating about regarding diabetes, which can make it more difficult to cope with. Try not to listen to things that other people have to say, such as, you can never eat carbohydrates again. Instead, educate yourself.
Talk with your doctor about connecting with certified diabetes educators and receiving diabetes self—management education. Learning all about what to eat, what your medication does, and how to test your blood sugar levels are just some of the things these resources can help you with. Educators can also dispel myths, create meal plans for you, coordinate other doctor appointments for you, and listen to all your needs. They have been trained to teach using a patient-centered approach.
If You’ve Been Living with Diabetes for a While
We give you special kudos for managing your condition as it’s not always that simple. If you’ve had diabetes for a long time, it’s normal to feel burnt out sometimes. You may get tired of your day-to-day tasks, such as counting carbs, or measuring your blood sugar. If this is the case, lean on a loved one for some support, or talk to someone else who has diabetes.
If you find that you’re a little bit rusty and could do with a refreshers course in nutrition or anything else diabetes-related, you should consider signing up for a diabetes conversation map class. These classes are a good way to re-learn key components of diabetes in a group setting. If you have adequate knowledge and are looking for ways to make life easier, check out some apps, fitness trackers, or nutrition resources that can help you stay active and cook healthy meals. Keeping up this good work is worth it, as it can help prevent further complications.
If, on the other hand, you have started to develop complications or your medication regimen has changed because your blood sugar levels are getting higher, you should remember that diabetes is a progressive disease – and sometimes these things just happen without you being able to do anything about it. As you get older, beta cells in the pancreas tire and stop working. If you have had diabetes for 20 years and now need to start insulin, for example, it doesn’t mean that you have failed. It just means that your body needs some extra help. Make sure you continue to educate yourself, and that you continue to have someone to lean on when you need it, and keep communicating with your doctor. All this can truly make a world of difference!

Expert tips on how you can reverse rheumatoid arthritis naturally!

If you have been suffering from RA for a long time, here is how a diet and exercise regimen can change your life!

Expert tips on how you can reverse rheumatoid arthritis naturally.

If you have been suffering from RA for a long time, here is how a diet and exercise regimen can change your life!

RA-naturally
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an extremely painful condition that can be quite often debilitating. But despite what you might know about the disease, living a life with the condition is definitely possible — with the right kind of diet and exercise. Nutritional therapist, says that he has devised a unique method for people with RA. He says that with his regimen people can reverse their condition and lead a healthy life.  Here are excerpts from the interview.
What is rheumatoid arthritis? How does it affect people?
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an immune disorder, where your immune system works against you. Unlike other forms of arthritis, RA is  caused by age and lack of adequate calcium. Basically,  RA is your immune system’s response to things going wrong within your body. The smaller joints get affected first, then larger ones and slowly the organs of the body also get affected. It is not very uncommon for RA patients to develop heart and other organ related diseases as their immune system works towards destroying their bodily functions. Read more about rheumatoid arthritis – causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
How did you come upon the use of nutrition and yoga to heal RA?
When I was diagnosed with RA, my rheumatologist started me on immuno-suppressants, steroids and methotrexate (a drug commonly used in chemotherapy). I was given a steroid injection on my elbow, since it had bent and would deteriorate beyond repair if no action was taken. I had to wait for three months for the immune drugs to start acting, and three months later I started to feel the effect.  For seven months, I regularly took the medicines along with folic acid and glucosamine supplements to negate the side effects of the strong drugs I was taking and to build my joints.
After a while of feeling good, I noticed that my hair had started falling. I tried everything possible to get back my lost hair, but to no avail. Nothing worked. When I asked my immunologist, he told me it was a side effect of the drugs I was taking. I had to choose between balding and being able to walk. Here’s what you should know about the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis.
The 14-day RA treatment:
When I was left with making a decision between going bald or being able to walk is when I decided to go off my medication. Instead, I signed up for a 14-day RA treatment at a well-known Ayurvedic outlet. For seven days, they used special herbs for Abhyangam. The next seven days, they used potli – a technique where you pound the joints with a small bundle full of herbs dipped in heated oil. It was painful but I actually began to feel a little better.
Pranayama: Despite all this I was still in a lot of pain and couldn’t even walk, so I turned to yoga and pranayama. I found breathing exercises boring, and did the minimum amount required. Miraculously, 15 days after I started my breathing routine, I began to feel better. Within six months of all the combinations, I was almost pain free.
I continued practicing half an hour of pranayama, five days a week, and got the potli therapy done once a month. I modified my diet and included nuts, fruits and green vegetables, which help in controlling inflammation.  I then added raw garlic, green tea and fish oil supplements (these foods also have anti-inflammatory components).  The process was slow and took me a year to recover. But after a year, when I did my blood tests, it showed that all my markers for RA were negative. The negative results continued month after month. You may also like to read about top 6 diseases that can trigger joint pain.
That is when I decided to get certified in nutritional therapy at the Oxford school for Nutritional Therapy. My aim was to treat patients with chronic lifestyle diseases. Today my method of reversing RA is a combination of my specialty as a health expert and my experience in healing different kinds of RA patients.
How does nutrition affect the condition and reverse it?
One of the major underlying causes of RA is an accumulation of nutritional deficiencies. Since RA is primarily an immune system disorder, if the immune system is strengthened with the help of nutrition, the symptoms of RA reduce drastically.  You may also like to read about these 6 natural remedies for arthritis you should try.
What veggies or foods should a person with RA specifically include into their diet on a daily basis?
Generally speaking, raw foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds should form 60 to70 per cent of their diet. They should also switch to green tea instead of their regular tea and coffee. Most importantly they should eliminate foods like sugar, white flour, processed meats and cold drinks from their diets. These foods are extremely dangerous for patients with RA as they only aggravate the process of inflammation and destruction of their body’s defence mechanism. (Read: Six food habits to beat arthritis)
How does yoga help in reversing RA?
Yoga and pranayama are great for people with RA.  The pain and stiffness that they feel is often excruciating and causes their joints to freeze making it difficult for them to move. Therefore, a combination of yoga and pranayama helps reduce these symptoms considerably. While, yoga keeps their joints supple and flexible, pranayama helps in the efficient release of toxins from the body, thereby reducing pain. You may also like to read about yoga poses to beat arthritis.
Alcohol is known for its ill effects on the body, can a person with RA have them?
A person with RA should have only red wine. Red wine is anti inflammatory agent that helps relieve the inflammation and the resveratrol in it  helps reduce the pain that one experiences when they are suffering from RA. That being said, a patient should make sure that he/she does not drink more than 2 goblets (150 ml per goblet) 3 to 4 times a week. (Read: 7 ways red wine is great for your health)
Is the kind of nutrition and exercise prescribed different for different body types?
Yes, it is highly personalised. When I meet a patient, I chart out a plan for him/her depending on their gender, age, blood reports, family history and personal history.
What is the general schedule that a person with RA will have to follow?
RA is an auto immune disorder and medical science and doctors say there is no real reason why RA strikes. However, in my practice, I have found the following reasons to be leading up to and cause RA.
    A compromised immune system
High levels of toxins in the body
A stressful event approximately 2 to 4 years before the onset of RA
    A sensitive nature
A shoulder/spine related problem 1 to 3 years prior to advent of RA
All the above lead to inflammation inside the body, and the only way to reduce inflammation is to attack it with an anti inflammatory lifestyle. Hence, treatment cannot be restricted only to diet or one form of science. Read more about exercising with arthritis — 5 things you must know before you start.
Some people think only Ayurveda treatment can cure RA but it’s not true. If you have RA, a specialised plan on the basis of your age, gender, blood reports and temperament is developed, that combats inflammation inside the body. This includes some anti inflammatory agents, mild yoga to keep the joints supple, pranayama to release toxins and stress, supplements to fulfil the nutritional deficiencies that caused the compromised immune system, long periods of rest and sleep as fatigue is very high, and an Ayurvedic massage schedule for 14 days to repair joint damage.  Consistently attacking RA and not letting go for 3 months at a stretch reverses it, reducing the inflammation and the pain.

Your Teeth May Indicate What's Happening Within Your Body!

It may come as a surprise to discover that your teeth may be an indicator of what is happening within your body. But according to Chinese medicine, acupuncture in particular, there is a strong relation between the condition of your teeth and the health of your internal organs.

The upper and lower incisors are linked to the bladder, kidneys and ears, while the canine teeth are associated with the liver and gallbladder. According to experts, premolars reflect the state of the lungs, while the molars are connected with stomach health, pancreas and spleen. But, does this mean that the damage of the teeth is responsible for all internal damages? Thankfully, no.

Discomfort and pain in the areas surrounding a healthy tooth as well as pain occurring in areas where the tooth has been long removed, known as phantom pain, occurs as a result of the message that our affected organs send to the corresponding tooth. It is therefore important to understand the connection between the teeth and the internal organs in order to discover the root of the damaged organ easily.

So, if you've had recent mouth troubles, you may want to check it out. Tooth pain can mean the following:
If you experience pain in the upper and lower incisor it may indicate pyelonephritis (kidney infections), cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) or otitis (a middle ear infection).

Pain in the first incisor may indicate prostatitis (swelling and inflammation of the prostate gland) or tonsillitis.

Chronic pain in the canine teeth may indicate that you are suffering from hepatitis or cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder).
Pain in the premolar teeth can be a sign of allergic reaction, dysbactriosis (microbial imbalance), pneumonia or colitis (inflammation of the inner lining of the colon).

Pain in the fourth teeth (top and bottom) may indicate pain in the elbows, colon disease, shoulder pain, knee pain or an inflammatory-related diseases like arthritis.

Pain in the molars means it's very likely that you are suffering from anemia, gastric ulcer, chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcer, or chronic pancreatitis.

Pain in the sixth lower teeth is a sign of atheroclerosis (a disease in which plaque builds in the arteries), vein-related problems and problems associated with the arteries.

Pain in the sixth upper teeth is linked to inflammation of the ovaries, thyroid gland and spleen, sinusitis and pharynx diseases.
The wisdom teeth are associated with cardiac diseases, congenital defect and coronary heart disease.

Pain in the lower molars indicate varicose veins, polyps in the colon or lung related problems like bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma and bronchial.
So next time you have a toothache, check to see whether the problem lies internally.

13 Home Remedies are Effective against Arthritis

These 13 Home Remedies Are Effective Against Arthritis!
Arthritis is a type of disorder that involves inflammation of one or more joints in the body. The condition affects approximately 350 million people worldwide, with osteoarthritis being the most common type. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States, with over 20 million people affected by it.

Arthritis can be triggered by severe bouts of inflammation, which occur when chemicals are released from the body into the bloodstream, or damaged tissue areas. This chemical release eventually aggravates the nerves, which results in a great deal of pain. Rheumatoid arthritis can even cause disfigurement of the hands.

We're going to discuss 13 tips for taking preventative measures against the disease, as well as how to alleviate its symptoms if it's already present. When discussing arthritis, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with the different types of classes and associated symptoms.

Editor's Note: The remedies listed here are NOT a substitute for medical treatment. Please consult with your doctor if you're experiencing symptoms.
Classes of Arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
  • Septic arthritis
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Gout and pseudo-gout
  • Still's disease
Symptoms of Arthritis
  • Redness
  • Joint stiffness
  • Loss of joint function
  • Joint swelling
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Fatigue/loss of energy
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Headaches
  • Loss of appetite
Here Are 13 Natural Remedies to Prevent Arthritis:
1. Exercise
Retain mobility in your joints by exercising regularly. Exercising will help control the excess pressure and strain that inflames the joint. It will also help strengthen the muscles that support the joint, and keep your joints fully lubricated. Always warm up properly before performing any stretching exercises. It's also a good idea to follow a healthy diet, and go for a walk every day.
2. Massage
There's nothing quite as soothing for your aching joints and muscles as getting a massage. Massaging with mustard oil might seem a bit out of the ordinary, but it works. The oil helps reduce joint pain and inflammation. You can prepare a homemade mustard oil mix as follows:
Directions:
  • Heat a little mustard oil until it becomes slightly warm. Onion juice may be added if there is swelling.
  • Rub the oil gently over the painful joint or joints before covering it with plastic wrap.
  • Apply warm towels to the swelling joints, and repeat on a daily basis or until swelling goes down.
3. Epsom Salt

Magnesium relaxes the muscles and nerve endings, which become aggravated by the inflammation. Dunking your hands in a bowl of water with Epsom salt can help alleviate the discomfort. It's also a great source of magnesium, which regulates the pH balance levels in the body. The salt keeps the pH levels low to prevent inflammation. Here's how to prepare an Epsom salt mixture:
Directions:
  • Fill a large bowl with warm water, and add a half cup of Epsom salt. Make sure you stir the contents of the bowl.
  • Dunk your hands or affected joints in the bowl. Alternatively, you may want to fill a tub with warm water and add 2 cups of Epsom salt to allow more room for larger joints, such as the knees.
  • Soak your joints for approximately 15 minutes. Soak daily.
4. Turmeric
Turmeric helps to reduce painful swelling and joint inflammation. The dark yellow spice promotes healthy functioning of the joints, keeps your immune system well-protected, and improves digestion. It's also excellent for reducing pain among people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. The yellow powder can even be mixed together with green tea, and here's the delicious recipe:
Directions:
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon of honey for a little flavoring
5. Increase Your Magnesium Intake
Magnesium is essential for absorbing calcium, which strengthens the bones. Magnesium supplements can relieve pain and rebuild bone tissue. Eat more foods that are high in magnesium, such as beans, nuts, whole grains, dark leafy greens, and fish. Magnesium oils and supplements can be purchased at any local health store. It's important to maintain high bone density to thwart the pain.
6. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra virgin olive oil acts like a natural aspirin to help heal painful joints. The oil contains the inflammatory enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which help lubricate your joints and provide you with instant pain relief. You can either rub a bit of the olive oil on the affected joints or consume 2-3 teaspoons of it.
7. Ginger

Ginger can reduce swelling and stiffness in the joints due to the high anti-inflammatory components found inside. Eating raw ginger on a regular basis can help alleviate pain by improving blood circulation. Ginger may be added to green tea to create a great healing solution. Here is an easy recipe you can make if you don't enjoy the taste of raw ginger:
Directions:
  • Fill a bowl with 6 teaspoons of dried ginger, 6 teaspoons of caraway seeds, and 3 teaspoons of black pepper. Mix well.
